I HAMILTON, 0NT., NOTES 4 . 0 Jockey J. Brooks met with the displeasure of starter Rowe in the closing race Thursday and was fined 0 for misbehavior at the post while astride R. Pendings Threatening. Joseph E. Martin, general manager of the Niagara Racing Association, reached here from Fort Erie in the interest of the meeting to be staged at the border course beginning July 4. Mr. Martin stated that stabling room is at a premium, and that many large racing stables had to be turned down for accommodations. Late applicants, however, can secure- accommodations at Stamford Park, in Niagara Falls, and van to Fort Erie. Van service will be operated gratis. G. Witmer, who rode his first race and scored with Mrs. C. Conyers Uvira in the second race at Hamilton, is under a five-year contract to Arthur Hullcoat. Witmer will be eighteen years old on his next birthday and is a native of Pennsylvania. J. Thorpe, acting for E. F. Seagram, disposed of the three-year-olds Langstaffe and Judge Rock to G. Massey, of Montreal, and they will be shipped to Mount Royal. Langstaffe and Judge Rock will accompany the R. Arbique racers and those of H. Neville that are destined for racing on the Quebec tracks. George Alexandra, trainer of the J. B. Smallman stable, stated that Ilchester, a member of the London sportsmans stable, would be on the shelf for the remainder of the Canadian season. Ilchester spread his foot while being galloped Friday morning, and was excused from the fifth race. Arthur Hullcoat received permission to withdraw the two year-old Cablegram from the second race Friday when he discovered the colt with a filled leg. E. F. Seagrams three-year-old Gay Sympathy was discovered to be running a fever when examined shortly before her engagement in the fifth race Friday and she wu excused by the stewards.
