U. S. AND PANAMA AGREE WASHINGTON, D. C, June 28.— It was as stated in official circles Thursday that an an agreement has been reached between the ne United States and Panama settling the gold ,ld payment dispute over the rental of the Panama n- Canal Zone by Uncle Sam. The United ed States has agreed to pay in dollars the J? equivalent of the present dollars in gold. Panama had objected to payment in anything lIZ but gold and used the treaty of 1903 V as the basis of her objection. This treaty called for an annual rental of 50,000 which was to be "made in gold coin."
