1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES $ e Monroe Sweeney, umpire with the International League and assistant manager of the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, was a visitor at Arlington Downs, Monday. Sweeney 1 spends his winters in Texas, working out of Mineral Wells as a football and basketball official and also holds down his hotel position. Members of the senior veterinary class of Texas A. and M. College next Monday will ba guests of E. Paul Waggoner at Arlington Downs. The student "vets," in charge of Dr. W. G. Brock, track veterinarian, will be shown over the spacious Waggoner plant, will watch the early morning workouts, lunch in the field kitchen and later view the afternoons racing from the clubhouse. Eddie Legere, who wintered in California, arrived from Los Angeles. He expects to remain until the end of the meeting. Legere reports himself as getting down to riding weight and plans resuming riding in the near future. R. F. Coppage, nationally known Missouri sportsman, arrived from Hot Springs and will make an extended visit.
