HIATUS, away nicely but outrun for the first half mile, was kept on the outside until moving up at the stretch turn, secured racing room between the leaders when straightened into the stretch, closed fast and was going away under pressure after taking the lead inside the final eighth. LOTOFUS stalled off early contention from MISS TWINKLE, lost ground entering the stretch but held on stronger than usual in the closing drive. SYLVIA G. saved a lot of ground to move into the lead at the turn for home but failed to rally, in the closing drive. MISS TWINKLE was prominent all the way and had no mishaps. CORUM vent very wide after being slow to get into full stride. He closed -a good gap and was racing strong at the nd. BE JUST raced forwardly but was not good enough. CABLEGRAM was outrun. PEACE MOVE broke ory slow and was never a factor. CHIEF HOLLIS quit to a walk in the last five-sixteenths. Scratched 23296 Merriweather, 112; 24700Canrock, 115; 24698 Phrixus, 120. ACAUTAW, at home in the footing and a strong factor in the early running, was forced wide into the stretch, wore PLAY BOOK down when straightened away and came out slowly under stout urging. PLAY BOOK displayed good speed while setting the pace, was taken into the firmer footing when reaching the stretch and held on well when forced to a severe drive. FIRST PIGEON was sent up fast on the outside when leaving the back stretch and closed with a good rush in the closing drive. LITTLE ARGO was hard ridden for the entire trip, but could not engage the leaders. MINTON lacked speed and was unable to enter contention. AL NEIMAN weakened steadily after the oepning three-eighths. ROYAL WAGER took command without effort after going an eighth, was kept in the best footing fwhile setting a steady pace, drew clear when ready and had speed in reserve at the end. BLUE ALICE, outpaced for the first half mile, swung to the outside when rallying to punishment but could not threaten the winner. LADDIE STONE was under stout urging while forcing the pace, saved ground but weakened Vluring the stretch run. ENGLES BOY was vigorously ridden to hold a forward position, responded when put to a stout drive, but was not good enough. DARLING PAT showed speed in the first half mile then .weakened. RE-ELECTION broke slowly and was never a factor. WIZARDESS went evenly. BLUE PRINCE :and BLACK SWEEP were outrun. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. Greenock, Nov. 28, 1929 1:10 4 110. EL CONTENTO moved to the front directly after the start, withstood a tedious drive willingly and barely lasted long enough to stall off HATS OFF. The latter sained fast after being rated for the first three-eighths then fought it out strongly until the close. BOGERTIN improved his position steadily when settled into his best stride, but could not reach the first two. FIGHT TALK raced well for a half mile, then tired. TARANTO could not untrack himself and was never dangerous. BRISTLE was under strong handling all the way. ROYAL FOLLY was done after a half mile. BEAVER LAKE did not fancy the footing. TALL OAK was rushed around his company after breaking slower than usual, raced into a slight lead when reaching the stretch, saved ground and held on determinedly under punishment. IRREPRESSIBLE broke fast and clear, had good speed until overhauled, then weakened gradually thereafter. TALKED ABOUT was stoutly handled from the beginning but failed to improve his position under punishment. SOMALI was shuffled back soon after the start and closed strongly when settled in his stride. OVERPLAY broke sluggishly and was never a factor. DOUBLE SCOTCH showed nice speed for three-eighths. ANN JOY was never dangerous. BRAVO CARUSO was carried wide on the turn and lost all chance. TIMEPIECE raced around his field to enter contention midway of the final turn, drew on almost even terms with the winner in the closing sixteenth, stumbled approaching the finish, but for which he may have been the winner. QUIET PLEASE, a keen factor after being displaced from the lead, held on willinely for the closing test. ONE CHANCE was hard urged throughout, but could not engage the leaders. BILLOWY WAVE, close to the early pacemakers from the start, secured racing room on the inside entering the stretch, took command without difficulty, drew clear and was not threatened thereafter. HAPPY FLAG, slow to find her speed, gradually improved her position and closed slowly, but was no match for the winner. ROSS lacked early speed, but finished with good speed through the last quarter. VENETIAN, slow as usual in the early stages, closed a good gap. LONE HAND, well up early, showed a iburst of speed to get to the front but quit. CANIMAR had no excuses. TIEMPO had early speed, but quit badly. SAINT KITTS quit after three-quarters. Overweight Billowy Wave, 2 pounds; Happy Flag, 2.
