RAISES TEMPERATURE STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 16. Dr. Benger Edlen of the Institute of Physics at Uppsala University, succeeded in raising the temperature to 500,000 degrees, centigrade. This intense heat was reached by means of an electrical discharge with high tension vacuum tubes. With this temperature the professor changed copper into sodium.
