MISS GRAVITY, improved with racing and away fast, took command nearing the final quarter, was unable to draw clear, responded to strong urging in the last eighth and withstood SOLAR MAID despite bearing out near the end. SOLAR MAID, slow to begin and forced to lose ground when racing forwardly, moved up with a rush after reaching the stretch but tired in the last strides. RUTH SCOUT worked her way forward steadily and finished strongly. MISS POMPEY, outrun for five-sixteenths, closed with a rush. ROLLED NOTES tired. ROYAL PALACE showed a good effort and tired. TRY IT, suddenly improved and outrun for three-quarters, responded fast after reaching the stretch,, wore MODESTO down in the last seventy yards and won drawing away. MODESTO, under a good drive from the start, responded to strong urging when threatened, drew away after disposing of CLUB SODA,, was inclined to bear out in the last sixteenth and failed to withstand the winner. LONESOME PINE, unable to improve its early position and forced to lose ground in the stretch, held on well. MISS ANTHONY saved ground when improving her position and finished strongly. CLUB SODA, used up in the pace and slightly impeded nearing the final eighth, tired thereafter. FLYING RED had no mishaps. ALLENFERN was never a factor. THE CHOCTAW was outrun. BABOO quit.
