BAY MEADOWS TURF NOTES j Willie Johns, the former rider and now a trainer, has leased the contract on jockey Albert Gunari for the season. Gunari formerly rode for P. M. Pike. Major Christenson recently recently sold Our Mortgage to Harold T. Klein. Frank Doyle has been engaged to train for Klein, who is just entering racings ranks as an owner. Jack Pelter was granted a trainers license Tuesday. He has Front Man and Hilo in training here. Russell Sanders, racing secretary at Long-acres, Seattle, announces that the Washington course will be open immediately following the Bay Meadows season, for training purposes. The Longacres meeting starts 3 and runs to Labor Day. Frank Sharkey, owner and trainer of Hy-mettus, was granted a license recently. Hy-mettus was wintered at Pleasanton. Major Sven Christenson, well-known California breeder and sportsman, plans to dispose of his entire thoroughbred holdings and he has placed his Meadowbrook Stock Farm, at Pleasanton, on the market. He has placed a price of 0,000 on the ranch. This includes his three stallions, Mortgage, Lang- Jdon Hills and The Okah, as well as his brood mares and young stock.
