PARMA VIOLET took command under hustling tactics, drew away after disposing of ALBANE, was put to strong pressure when tiring, gave way to the winner, but held on gamely. WENDOVER, never far back, made up ground in the last eighth. ALBANE, used up in the pace, tired rapidly during the final quarter. SHARP THOUGHTS, forced to lose ground throughout, tired. JOE JAY raced wide. HOMER L., slow to reach his stride, made up ground in the stretch. COLD SOUTH, fractious at the start, ran away the wrong way on the track for five sixteenths and showed nothing. TAKUS, away slowly and forced to lose ground early, drove through the field when improving his position and closed with a rush. DOZANA, used up in the pace, tired in the drive.
