BOOST PURSES AT HAVRE HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., April 23. With indications pointing to a successful meeting for the Harford Association at Havre de Grace, general manager Edward Burke has consented to boost overnight purses beginning on Saturday to a minimum of ,000. He has notified Charles J. McLennan of his offer and the news was cheerfully received by horsemen, who learned of the advance in purses through a bulletin placed in the secretarys office. Through the endowment of larger purses the offer will necessitate some changes in the condition book, as the rules state that horses must be entered in claiming races for at least twice the amount of the winners share of the purse. This will place the minimum claiming price for starters at ,400.
