— • PIMLICO TURF NOTES | $ • Curtain Call, a jumper in the stable of L. H. Drennan, broke down during the running of the Raceland Steeplechase at Pimlico Monday, and the nine-year-old gelding will be on the shelf for an indefinite period. James P. Ross, Jr., departed for Narra-gansett Park in the interest of the coming meeting to be staged at Agawam. Ross will have charge of allotting stalls at the Massachusetts track. Trainer J. Y. Christmas and steeplechase jockey E. Mitchell, who were denied the privileges of the course at Pimlico for three days for conduct detrimental to the best interests of racing, have completed their sentences. The draft of conditions compiled by John P. Turner. Sr., for the Hamilton Jockey Club spring meeting has been forwarded to officials of that association for approval. The books will be released as soon as they come off the press. The horses of the Bomar Stable will be shipped to Detroit at the conclusion of the Pimlico meeting, where they will join the stables three horses that are now quartered at the Fair Grounds. After his engagement in the Preakness the stables Gram Slam will be pointed for the Detroit Derby. Trainer Johnny Kermath will campaign eight Bomar performers in the Illinois section and later R. E. Potts will ship the main division to the same place. The Maryland Hotel Mens Association will donate a piece of plate to the owner of the winner of the Fort McHenry Purse, Thursdays sixth race. Jockeys A. Shelhamer and F. Faust will leave on Sunday for Chicago. Their engagements will be made by Worth Johnson. Shelhamer is under contract to H. G. Bedwell, who will race the horses he has for the California patron, A. C. Compton, in Chicago. J. Y. Christmas will ship his stable on Sunday to Narragansett Park. Jockey Clayton Phillips will accompany the stable. Steeplechase jockey Paul McGinnis will leave for Belmont Park on Friday night to ride H. R. Bains Rock Lad in the International Steeplechase at the Nassau County course on Saturday. In order to speed up the printing of programs for Preakness day at Pimlico on Saturday, racing secretary Frank J. Bryan has instructed trainers and owners that scratch time has been set for 7:30 a. m., in-: stead of 8:30, which has been customary. The Maryland division of the C. V. Whitney stable was transferred to Belmont Park to be concentrated with the main division in charge of T. J. Healey. A draft will be selected at a later date for racing at Rockingham Park. Jockey A. Diliddo will accompany the horses that Frank Gilpin is sending into Canada for racing in the Dominion. James V. Stewart has altered his plans and will split his stable into two divisions. He will take a draft of his stable to Belmont Park, while Nathan Swart will be in charge of a division to be campaigned at Narragansett Park. Several of the riders at Pimlico have decided to remain over for the ten-day meeting to be staged by the Hagerstown Fair Association beginning May 19.
