TOP ROW FIRED ■ SAN MATEO, Calif., May 13.— Top Row, A. A. Baronis handicap champion, had the firing irons applied to his near front ankle Tuesday morning and will be out of action for some time. Dr. Lovell performed the operation, with A. A. Baroni looking on from a wheel chair in which he was conveyed from Mills Memorial Hospital to the track. Although Top Row will be out of training, he will remain with the Baroni string and when again taken up will be shipped to New York and pointed for the rich eastern stakes to be run in the late summer and fall. Owner Baroni expects to be released from the hospital Thursday.
