SEEK ROCKINGHAM STAKES ♦ Strong Greentree Stable Band Being Shipped to Salem. ♦ Plat Eye, Sailor Beware, Black Buddy and First Minstrel Head Mrs. Payne Whitneys String. » SALEM, N. H., May 13.— The Greentree Stable of Mrs. Harry Payne Whitney will make a strong bid for the seven major stakes to be staged at the spring meeting of the New Hampshire Jockey Club at Rockingham Park, May 25 to June 13. Headed by the handicap performers, Plat Eye, Sailor Beware, Black Buddy and First Minstrel, the pink, black and green silks of the Greentree Stable will be sported at the coming nineteen-day meeting. A division of the Greentree string now at Pimlico, will leave for here the latter part of this week. Plat Eye, the Chicle gelding, an entrant in the Toboggan Handicap at Belmont Parks opening, has been nominated for the ,500 added New England States Handicap, and the ,500 Granite State Handicap. Previous to his effort in the Toboggan, Plat Eye ran third to Sation and Miss Merriment in the Jamaica Handicap. Both Gillie and First Minstrel have been nominated for the Rockingham Park, Granite State and Decoration Day Handicaps. Sailor Beware and Black Buddy, other Greentree sprinters, are expected to start in the Granite State along with Plat Eye. Juveniles from the Greentree Stable will be seen in the various local features for two-year-olds. Drowsy, Somali, Mill Pond, Chickling and Banjoline, fast stepping Greentree youngsters, have all been nominated for the ,500 added Juvenile Handicap. Racing secretary H. D. "Jim Monroe, has allotted twenty stalls to the thoroughbreds in the colors of Mrs. H. P. Whitneys Greentree Stable. They will be assigned stalls twenty to forty in Barn Y.
