Won easily; second and third driving. MEROVECH, prominently placed from the start, moved up on the outside when going to the frontV wore down CURRANTS and drew out steadily through the stretch run. CURRANTS had speed from the start and, while unable to cope with the winner, continued with good energy to the end. COYA, outrun for; the first half mile, closed stoutly on the outside through the last eighth. BEDIGHT had the most early speed, but faltered after going three-eighths. SUN CRUMP closed a big gap, though kept under intermittent punishment throughout. GALLA moved into contention down the back stretch and, kept within striking distance of the pace, dropped back in the last quarter mile. AL CARLYS, away with the leaders and prominently placed while racing on the outside, drew clear in the stretch, but barely lasted to hold safe the closing bid of COPO. The latter, away well, was shuffled back in the run to the first turn, was outpaced until reaching the stretch, closed with a rush on the outsido and was traveling fastest at the end. TOOTHPICK, outrun for three-eighths, closed rapidly in the last eighth. DURWRACK, prominent from the start, tired in the closing drive. GLOW WORM made up some ground. MILLIMETER, quickest to begin, fought it out courageously for the lead with PARVA STELLA and GOOD OMEN and shook them off during the last sixteenth. PARVA STELLA was prominently placed from the start and hold on well to the end. GOOD OMEN showed good speed from the start, fought it out in game fashion for the first half mile, then tired slightly in the last three-sixteenths. MY BLONDE, hard hustled to join into contention, was never able to roach the leaders. MADERIS was unable to threaten, though well placed all the way. SHANTIME closed some ground and was going well at the end. TUGBOAT was outrun early, but made up some ground. TED HUSING tired. Overweight Good Omen, 3 pounds; Shantime", 3; Bay Hero, 2; Hastinip. 2. AUNT FLOR displayed speed from the start, continued with good energy when challenged, but was not good enough. SAVINGS was unable to keep pace with the leaders early, then closed willingly through the stretch. The latter, In closest attendance of the winner throughout, continued with good energy to the close. SPEED TO SPARE, away fast, dropped back steadily during the opening quarter mile, began moving up on the outside leaving the back stretch, found his impost too great a burden and was unable to improve his position in the closing drive. LITTLE NYMPH, well placed and under slight restraint in the opening three-eighths, was unable to make up any ground when called upon. BLACK HIGHBROW tired. SATRAPAL fought it out determinedly with the winner, but was unable to keep pace through the last three-sixteenths. PLUCKY BABY, outrun during the early stages, came willingly through the stretch. BLACK HAT responded willingly when called upon, but was unable to reach the First two. LONG BIT showed an improved effort and raced well placed throughout. MT: HOOD trailed early, but closed a big gap. OVERSTIMULATE moved up with a rush straightening out down the back stretch, reached contention, then faltered in the last three-eighths. MATHIAS was unable to reach the leaders. GREYGLADE quit badly after going three-quarters.
