NORMA CLARK followed SILVER BANQUET closely in the early stages and, forging to the front in the stretch, drew into a good lead in the last sixteenth. SILVER BANQUET displayed the most early speed, but was tiring at the finish. CLARICE McCLAIN raced well up. BOURBON DARLING showed speed in spots, but tired near the end. LOUP RIVER was badly outrun. FOXES FOLLY raced to the front early, was taken back to permit MINT BOX to make the pace, but came again in the stretch to take command and won handily. MINT BOX displayed good early speed and held on fairly well. BUSY BILLY overcame slight early interference to finish gamely. WELL DRESSED could not keep up. BULLETIN BOARD was taken back to last place soon after the start, was permitted to drop far out of it, was then taken, ta.thc extreme outside approaching the stretch turn to race beyond the middle of the track, but finished fast and gamely and would have been dangerous under capable handling. MISS SAVAGE was blindly raced into a pocket approaching the far turn and was forced to pull up. BEST O LUCK tired. Scratched 26605 Hy Lou, 96. DENVER LAD moved up fast after leaving the back stretch and, catching BRONC RIDER after entering the stretch, drew away near the finish. REGISTERITE improved her position steadily and was going fast at the finish. BRONC RIDER was used up getting to the front around the stretch turn and had little left. SHABONEE was all over the track, but finished well and would have been dangerous with better racing luck. MARY COT was taken up when in close quarters rounding the far turn. LITTLE URCHIN raced to the front early to make the pace and, although performing fairly well, could not resist the first two. CRESTA RUN tired in the stretch. JUSTA HYMN raced to the front at once and, opening up a good lead, saved ground in the stretch and lasted to hold BALLYHOO safe. The latter, taken under restraint in the early stages, was in close quarters in the back stretch, responded gamely when urged after going a half mile and, although losing ground on the stretch turn, finished fast and would have won in a few more strides. TUMBLE IN showed a fairly eood effort. OPIUM and LITTLE INA tired. Overweight Opium, 3 pounds.
