HASTY BELLE, allowed to drop back when leaving the back stretch, rallied nicely when coming between horses during the stretch run and in a strong finish was up in the concluding strides. TRAJECTORY, slower than usual at the start, worked his way into a forward position when approaching the stretch, closed resolutely and just failed to get up. STORMER raced forwardly from the beginning, gained a slight lead midway of the stretch, but tired nearinc the end. PRETTY PATRICIA finished determinedly and was going strongest at the close. CARELESS KNIGHT was used up getting to the front and tired. MELOY showed a flash of speed at the turn out of the back stretch. UVIRA tired. Scratched 26786 Eyryholme, 109 ; 26589 Last Time, 104. CENTERMARCH, a keen factor from the beginning, displaced ARDAWN midway of the turn, saved ground when in command and held on tenaciously to withstand CHIPS. The latter, taken to the outside when reaching the starting point, raced prominently and came with good energy for the closing drive. ARDAWN was rushed hard all the way and held on willingly. ANACREON was vigorously ridden throughout and had no excuses. LUXURO raced in spots. CONTRIBUTE lacked early speed and could not menace when the real test came. CEASE FIRE, sent up fast to engage the leaders leaving the back stretch, took command with a rush when coming through on the leaders entering the stretch, then drew out rapidly in the closing eighth. FESTIVE BOARD, in tight quarters going to the turn, recovered after being eased back and came with good courage. GOLDEN SILENCE was strongly ridden to hold a slight lead in the first half mile, then quit. GORMLEY could not threaten. SPEY FOX joined the pacemaker entering the stretch, but swerved to the inside while racing greenly and tired. FLORESENCE showed no speed. FOURTH RACE 7-8 MILE Out of Chute. SWEEPDEN, placed forwardly in the early running, challenged strongly when reaching the stretch, took command in the closing eighth and, holding on strongly, outstayed STORMBLOWN. The latter, forced wide into the back stretch, improved his position steadily in the last half mile and finished with good courage. LADYMUCH moved up stoutly nearing the stretch, lost considerable ground, but finished gamely. CHALGO had nice speed for the first five eighths, then tired. LISSOM LAD was made entirely too much use of getting to the front and had nothing left when the final test came. MINTHERA began tiring after five-eighths. STACK ARMS, outrun for the first five-eighths, swung to the outside when moving up fast nearing the stretch, rallied strongly when straightened into the stretch and, closine fastest, was up in the last few yards. CHERRY STONE shook off repeated efforts from CANIA and NEWELL, saved ground and fought it out stubbornly. NEWELL, placed on the outside for the start, went strongly all the way and held on gamely. CANIA raced on the inside from the beginning and tired during the stretch drive. MISS COG went well placed, but was not good enough. SHEPHERD BOY was strongly ridden, but was never dangerous. OMER outran his field to the first turn, went along under mild restraint until challenged, cama again after being headed and outlasted MISS GORMLEY. The latter followed closest to the winner from the start, gained a short lead midway of the stretch, but hung under a hard drive right at the end. DEEDIE, permitted to drop far out of contention, circled her field, closed with a rush and was going much the fastest at the close. MUSLET moved up menacingly in the last half mile, but tired in the last eighth. PARADISE MAID failed to better her position. GALTHEA had no excuses. The latter circled her field in the last half mile and finished stoutly. AIR KING, messed about going to the first turn, was steered wide to reach contention and was under severe punishment in the last five-sixteenths. LIGHT BLUE raced prominently and had no mishaps.
