CHILIAD, going in its best form and unable to improve its early position, moved up fast after reaching the stretch, forged to the front under strong hand riding after its jockey lost his whip and won with something left. HIGH BOTTOM, a strong factor from the start, was allowed to bear to the inside when reaching the lead and failed to withstand the winner. SILENT DON, outrun for a half mile, was sent through the field for the drive and closed with a rush. STEPONIT, used up in the pace and pinched back when HIGH BOTTOM bore over, tired thereafter. RENAISSANCE, well handled and saved when outrun, responded fast when put to strong pressure in the stretch, wore ALWINTOUR down in the last strides and won drawing away. ALWINTOUR rushed into a good lead early, set a good pace under light urging, was put to stronger pressure when tiring and tired fast in the last forty yards. MATAPEAKE, a strong factor from the start, tired fast in the drive. TRANSPOSE, outrun for a half mile, closed with a rush. EREBUS made up ground in the final quarter. GAY BANNER quit. LADY TRUST, going in her best form and away well, moved up fast on the inside, took command under hustling tactics, drew away rapidly, responded well when threatened and withstood NAWAB. The latter, lucky to find room when racing forward, was put to good urging entering the stretch, came to the outside of the leaders in the final eighth and finished well. PEEPER, away slowly and shuffled back soon after the start, improved his position steadily and closed with a rush. ALL BAYS moved up fast after five-eighths and tired after offering a bold bid midway of the stretch. DELGADO began very slowly, was used up in reaching contention and tired in the last eighth. The latter worked his way forward steadily, was steered to the outside for racing room, moved up fast in the stretch and was fast catching the winner at the end. LADINO, outrun for three-eighths and lucky to find racing room in the field during the drive, closed with a rush. HOMER L., unable to improve his early position, was sent to the inside for the drive and tired after offering a bold bid ncaring the final eighth. ROYAL COMMAND, well up from the start, was shuffled back at the far turn, came again when clear and tired. SWEET MEMORIES raced -wide. FANCY FLIGHT and FREE AGAIN uuit.
