LADY DAY, quickest to find her stride, look a short lead at once, but had to be shaken up at the stretch turn and was ridden out to the finish. HAPPY HOST worked its way up on the inside, then came to the outside around the far turn and closed very fast. PRAIRIE PRINCE, shuffled back to last place in the early running, closed very fast through the stretch and just failed to get up for second place. TIDY LADY improved her position gradually. MAGIC GIFT, last for the first quarter, moved up gradually on the outside and closed very fast through the stretch, but was no match for the winner. THE MILLAY could not improve its position. BLACK BESS moved up very fast around the far turn, only to weaken when the real racing began. LETS PLAY showed speed for a half mile. TUFFET did not seem to like the footing. FORGET NOT raced into the lead at once and was allowed to run right along, only to weaken in the last sixteenth. ARDOR improved his position gradually, but was no threat to the loaders. MACHILLA could not keep up in the early running, then improved its position much in the stretch run. MOON ROSE ran an even race. PROTEUS began to quit after going a quarter mile. KNIGHTS HOPE, away a hit slow, was rushed into contention, sought to reach the leader around the him and tired during the stretch drive. RACE CRAFT dropped out of the early running coming to the outside at the far turn, began closing up, running fastest of all and just failed to get up. RUTLAND was well rated along in front to the stretch turn, where he relinquished the lead, but hung on with determination. ADVOCATE JUNIOR forced the early pace and hung on well at the end. GOLDEN PLAY went evenly all the way. GENTLEMAN was through after going half a mile.
