PASS EM BY swerved to the outside shortly after the break, was rated along steadily, drew away into a safe lead and had speed in reserve. GRAND JESTER, a forward factor all the way, responded to urging in the final eighth, but could not menace the winner. GUMPTION was kept forwardly from the start while racing truly on the outside and held on well. DEBATE showed a good effort throughout. RAVENNA raced erecnly. IRISHEEN finished well under mild urging. AXEWORK improved his position steadily after the first turn of the field, was .blocked going to the eleventh fence, came to the outside of the leaders, bothered DUNDRILLIN after taking the final fence and proved best in the drive to the end. DUNDRILLIN was kept forwardly from the start, moved up gamely when called upon, was on the inside of the winner going to the final fence, came again after being bumped and finished well. WORLD SERIES showed good speed, raced BUDGET BOY into defeat, saved ground and held on well. POSTMAN HOME was outrun early, responded to urging and made up ground steadily. LITTLE WOMAN was well up in a contending position when she made a bad landing at the eleventh fence. BUDGET BOY had speed the first turn of the field. QUICK VERDICT, a trailer early, made up ground over tired horses. ABENAKI had no mishaps. SYRIAC was outrun. BOUCICO lost its rider at the eighth fence. Scratched 25275 Greg Ormont, 144. RICHMOND ROSE broke well, but bore over towards the outside, responded to pressure when called upon and outlasted PREMIERE in the final drive. The latter overcame interference, forced her way through between the leaders in the final eighth and finished gamly. SCOTTISH MARY, a forward factor from the start, raced greenly, but finished well under urging. LADY MARYLAND showed high early speed, but faltered under urging at the end. TOP GEM, on the outside all the way, showed a good effort. DIZZY DAME, well up early, had no mishaps in the running. CARE FOR had no mishaps in the running. FLUTON moved into contention with a rush, came to the outside in the stretch and .finished well. HIGH-POOL showed early speed from the start, responded when called upon in the stretch run, but faltered at the end. WHA HAE raced forwardly from the start and had no mishaps. DOWN UNDER began slowly, worked his way up on the outside and lost ground at the turns, but finished fast. MASKED GAL broke from outside the stalls and was rushed into contention from a slow beginning and tired from her early efforts. VITASCOPE raced evenly all the way. PALMA, in nearest pursuit of ;the early pace, made a determined bid rounding the far turn, but faltered at the end. COUNT ARTHUR, away well, dropped back under restraint, but could not improve his position when called upon. WIGGLE IN, under restraint on the outside in the early running, slipped through on the inside entering the stretch and finished with good courage. JACK SNIPE, fractious at the post, broke well and showed early speed, was taken under restraint when outrun and came again under pressure. DISCOURSE responded to urging in the stretch run. PEPPER PATCH improved her position from a slow beginning, but was blocked in the stretch run. QUEEN ELIZABETH had no mishaps. SAY DO quit.
