j LATONIA TURF NOTES Al Land, deputy sheriff of Jefferson County, returned to Louisville ater a days visit at Latonia. He contemplates returning for another visit in the near future. Erla, which Jack Howard recently purchased from the Coldstream Stud, made his initial start in the colors of his new owner Thursday afternoon. Dixie Flapper, Henry M., Tobacco Buyer and Azomis are the new additions to starter Hamiltons schooling list. 1 Bennett Creech, Illinois turfman, departed for Detroit with the seven thoroughbreds he purchased during his stay of a week here. The horses left by van and will be campaigned at the Detroit Fair Grounds. Apprentice J. Tinker has obtained permission from his contract employer, J. B. Res-pess, to go to Agawam and ride during the remainder of that meeting. He plans to depart Friday morning for that track. The third issue of the Latonia condition book is scheduled to be ready for distribution to turfmen Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Jockey E. Ramsey, who was badly shaken up when he was brushed off his mount a few days ago, has recovered sufficiently to resume riding Friday, it was reported.
