TRIALS FOR DETROIT STAKES Belle Isle Handicap and St. Clair Stakes Eligibles in Workouts Miney Myerson Ready. DETROIT, Mich., June 4. Several eligibles for Saturdays renewal of the Belle Isle Handicap and Little Upset, named for the St. Clair Stakes, were seen in useful preparations for those important fixtures over a fast track at the Fair Grounds this morning. Giving a demonstration of his sprinting ability, Miney Myerson went five furlongs in 1:01, while Marynell, the hope of the Long Run Stable for the ,000 added prize, went the same distance in 1:01. Both were in hand. W. C. Stroubes Croon went a handy three-quarters in 1:17, and Preeminent breezed the same distance in 1:20. Little Upset breezed a half mile in :50. Present indications point to large fields for the two stakes, probably a dozen being under colors for the Belle Isle, and that many more will sprint over the five furlongs in the St. Clair. The two stakes took on "new interest this morning when trainer Edward Snyder unloaded Tranquillity Farms Rock X. and Challite. Both had uneventful trips from Chicago. Rock X. is not new to the local patrons, some of his best races having been run over the Detroit track. Challite was considered one of the best juveniles in the Chicago district. Snyder announced this morning that jockey Willie Moran will be here to ride them.
