1 BOWIE TURF NOTES s John Davis distributed stable applications for the Agawam Park meeting, which opens in May. Starter James Milton will send a division of his ground crew to Havre de Grace for schooling purposes at that track. Jockey S. Palumbo arrived from New York and reported ready to accept mounts. Jockey R. Root checked in from Hot Springs and was granted permission to ride. Frank Capra arrived from Miami and took over the engagement book of jockey F. A. Smith. Capra reported that jockey M. Peters would resume riding at Havre de Grace. Gene Fletcher, 100-pound apprentice under contract to the Bomar Stable, arrived from his home in Dayton, Wash., and reported to trainer R. E. Potts of that establishment. C. Feltner arrived from Hot Springs with sixteen horses, headed by Buck Langhorne. Jockey J. Villalobo arrived from Cuba and reported to his contract employer, L. Haymaker. Jockey Nick Wall arrived from California and will accept mounts here. He will report to Matt Brady, trainer of the W. J. Ziegler, Jr., stable, at Belmont Park upon the conclusion of this meeting. Ex-jockey Whitey Abel brought in Jelly Roll, Byrds Flight and Brilliant Blue from Florida for George Krehbiel, of Detroit. In the same shipment Abel brought on his wifes Greenski, Just Fun, Grand Duke and Honey Cloud. Walter Carter has Piccolo, Clodion, La Cherie, Ample and Hurry Ann in training for R. A. Moore and others. Max Smart came over from Bennings with forty-one horses. Reports that twenty-three of Mrs. Cary T. Graysons band will be sold at auction on May 18 at Belmont Park. Matt Brady has the following horses in training at Pimlico, which he will van here on days they get a chance to race: Detonate, Flood Tide, Polly Fair, Merry Meg, Golden Bough, Substantial, Elchico, High Blame, Gridiron, Our Mat, Higher Bracket, . Romney, Esposa, Dissembler, Suburbanite, Swiftgold, Polyata and Zostera.
