AGAWAM CHASES PROBABLE SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 2. William du Pont Jr., of Wilmington, Del., one of the famous turf figures in the United States, paid a flying visit to Agawam Park and offered a guarded opinion that steeplechase racing may be practical at the local track this year. Laboratory tests of the soil and some engineering work will be necessary be-fort du Pont, internationally known authority on steeplechase courses, will give a definite answer and the tests and engineering work are to be done immediately.
