GHOSTFLYER displayed good speed to get to the front in the opening eighth, met strong contention from HARDY JIM and came out slowly at the finish. HARDY JIM was a stout contender from the beginning, made a strong bid and held on gamely after bearing out nearing the finish. TOP STAFF bettered his position, but could not threaten the first two. BOLD LAD was in the first flight and had no excuse. MAOLISSA raced on the outside, but could not reach the leaders. ROYAL TEDDY was racing strongly at the finish. BET WICK was unable to menace. TIN DEVIL broke greenly and was never dangerous. NELLIE BLY showed speed for three-eighths, then tired. DOGROSE had a rough trip. WELSH STAR quit. SECOND RACE 1 MILE AND 70 YARDS. BLOX, beginning sluggishly, was outrun .for three-quarters, but worked his way up on the inside when settled into stride and closed fast when reaching the home stretch to reach the front in the final sixteenth. ! SICKLE LASS was a keen factor from the beginning and fought it out determinedly in the final issue. LOVICK, kept in the first flight throughout, raced courageously nearing the finish. DAY IS DONE closed a big gap from a slow beginning. GRAPE THIEF was away quickly, but dropped back going to the first turn and failed to reach contention. GREENSKI raced evenly. SOUGHT AFTER displayed good early speed and opened up a clear lead, but flattened out in the final quarter. TROLIGHT showed a flash of early speed. The latter was in nearest pursuit of the winner from the beginning, challenged strongly when reaching the home stretch, but failed to menace seriously approaching the finish. CREPE broke fast to take command early, stalled off NOW THEN in the first half mile, opened up a long lead when reaching the home stretch and had much in reserve at the finish. BENJAM dropped back at the turn out of the back stretch, rallied to pressure, but could not menace the winner when finishing stoutly. DOROTHY ROCK raced close to the leaders early, challenged stoutly midway of the turn, then tired. NOW THEN raced stoutly for three-eighths, but quit badly. BLINI was outrun. MANEUVER was held safe. MASKED GENERAL, racing kindly and going in the first flight, swung to the outside when making his run, reached the leaders rapidly and reached the front in the last few yards. JAY JAY, away nicely, dropped bfck badly in the first sixteenth, but settled into stride gradually and circled his field to finish full of run. CLOCKS was well up from the beginning, moved up rapidly to take command entering the home stretch while saving ground, but faltered right at the Finish. GRAND SLAM, starting slowly, finished with a belated rush. ISOLATER, als slow to settle into stride, finished with a rush. SUN EGRET was rushed into a forward position, secured racing room on the inside, but failed to rslly when placed to punishment entering the home stretch. FINANCE raced well. SUN MICA, going in his best form, withstood stout contention from SUNANAIR, saved ground throughout and came again after being displaced in the final eighth. SUNANAIR forced a steady early pace, but tired. PASSING EVE failed to better her position when placed to a drive. JAVAMOCHA was unable to threaten at any stage. SHOT UP was outrun. BOUNDING COUNT, permitted to settle into his best stride, circled his field and finished full of run. EARLY BROOM, in close pursuit of THE MAULER, went to the front entering the home stretch, but failed to stay under a severe drive. ZINNIA raced prominently all the way and held on well while saving ground. THE MAULER was rated in front until challenged, then failed to rally. BOGERTIN finished strongly on his own courage. AIRLAP was blocked at the final turn. GOLDEN X. was held safe. EUDES was taken wide all the way.
