Extension of the future conditions by one year to require original nominations to be filed on weanlings instead of yearlings in the Arlington Futurity and Arlington Lassie Stakes, the two major races for two-year-olds in the Mid-West, was announced, by John Hertz, chairman of the executive board of the Arlington Park Jockey Club, Saturday. The new conditions will go into effect in the 1940 Arlington Futurity and Lassie, the nominations closing for both this renewal and the 1939 events on September 15, 1938.
