RIVER DOWNS MEETING TO I BEGIN NEXT WEDNESDAY - 4 CINCINNATI, Ohio, April 28. All dressed up, the River Downs race track, will open its gates to the local turf colony next Wednesday afternoon for a twenty-three day meeting. With several good stables represented in the tracks population and with the assurance that several more well known establishments, including the Dixiana Farm and Oddesa Farm outfits, will race their horses at the Downs the coming spring session promises to be the best in the history of the Ohio River course. Word from trainer Clyde Van Dusen, who is in charge of Charles T. Fishers powerful Dixiana Farm establishment, disclosed that he will ship ten horses to the Downs at the conclusion of the Keeneland Park meeting, while C. Hyde Smith sent word that he will race fifteen of the Oddesa Farms horses at the Downs. President Peter A. Horback of the River Downs Racing Association announced that the annual "open house day" celebration will be held at the track Sunday afternoon. All the turf fans of greater Cincinnati and nearby towns are invited to attend. There will be no admission charge.
