SPRINT HANDICAP IMPORTANT James Fitzsimmons to Start Both Snark and Merry Lassie Saturday at Jamaica. NEW YORK, N. Y., April 28. While the Wood Memorial is naturally the big weekend event at Jamaica, the Sprint Handicap of six furlongs, bearing the name of the course, and with ,000 added, has an importance. James Fitzsimmons, just as he seems to hold the strogest hand for the Wood, appears to have the best hand for the Jamaica. His two star sprinters are the Wheatley Stable pair, Snark, winner of the Paumonok and top weight under a burden of 136 pounds, and the filly Merry Lassie, which was winner of the Stuyvesant. Merry Lassie is in the Jamaica under 111 pounds and she probably will be the stable choice over the son of Boo-jum on her brilliant Stuyvesant performance. Others expected to go to the post in the Jamaica are Wise Prince, Black Look, Little Miracle, Clbdion and, possibly, Sgt. Byrne and Drudgery. There are some few others that might be sent to the post, but all of these have worked well for the prize and they should be seen under silks.
