IDLE MISS raced close to the pace from the beginning, moved into command with a rush rounding the far turn and drew away through the final eighth, winning with speed in reserve. GREY FLUFF showed speed from the start, responded when placed under pressure, but was no match for the winner. HARVESTING dropped back early, improved his position on the inside and finished well. SUNSET GIRL made up some ground, after a slow beginning. BORN HAPPY was in close quarters early, but faltered steadily when clear. DARK SUN had no mishaps. TICKMARA and ADDIS were outrun. Won handily; second and third easily. FORTY EIGHT followed the fast early pace under steadying restraint, moved up with determination when straightened in the stretch run and wore down DOUBLE BACK to draw away. The latter showed good speed from the start, saved ground at the turn and disposed of SWEET PATRICE entering the stretch, holding on well. OUR MAT dropped back early, came nicely through the stretch and finished well. CHING-LING was outrun from the beginning, SWEET PATRICE, in nearest pursuit of the early pace, bore out sharply entering the stretch and was not persevered with at the finish. MAY R. showed early speed, drew away hearing the stretch turn, but bore out in the final cignth, then came again under severe pressure to outstay LIBERTY FLIGHT. The latter, in close quarters in the early running, worked his way up steadily when clear, made a determined bid in the final eighth, but hung in the last strides. SPANDAU, on the inside from the start, was tiring at the finish. GALAGAL showed an even effort. SEA VOYAGE, fractious at the post, closed ground, steadily. CAL RAINEY finished well under urging. GAYSET was in early trouble. TOW ROPE tired in the stretch after being blocked nearing the eighth post. LITTLE TARZAN began slowly. NIGHT MIST was outrun. DEVILS MATE showed a flash of early speed. BE QUAINT, in nearest pursuit of the pace from the start, made a determined bid turning for home, but was unable to menace the leaders. SPANISH WAY suffered interference rounding the first turn and saved ground rounding the stretch turn, but hung at the finish. BOSTON PAL had no mishaps. CELESTINO was close up early, but quit.
