HOOPS, from a slow beginning, improved his position steadily on the outside, came around the leaders entering the stretch, and finished with a rush, wearing down SEMAPHORE in the last stride. The latter moved up fast when settled in its stride, came to the outside of the leaders turning for home and held on with good courage to the finish. COBE was sent into command with a rush, raced JUDGES VERDICT and FAIR DEAL into defeat and then tired nearing the finish. CHIMNEY TOP closed ground slowly on the inside after saving much ground. JUDGES VERDICT had no mishaps. FERRYBOAT could not keep up. SUNSET GIRL raced evenly all the way. ROCKY MARGOT dropped back after the start. FAIR DEAL quit badly after showing a flash of early speed. Won driving; second and third the same. SUPPLY HOUSE jumped well and showed speed on the flat, responded when urged in the final eighth, and held SUMATRA safe. The latter was rated along back of his field, bobbled at several fences, came to tte outside for the final drive and finished on his own courage. SWIMALONG showed speed the first turn cf the field and held on well. WAMBAW was bothered badly after taking the first jump and again after taking the sixth. He tired thereafter. CHEROLIZE, in nearest pursuit of the early pace, faltered under pressure. BRIGHT GRAY closed ground steadily on the outside. SISTER REIGH swerved slightly under urging. LIBERTY FLIGHT showed high early speed while saving ground and held on well. OUR KETCHAM moved up fast on the outside from a slow beginning, made a determined bid entering the stretch and then quit. MOONFOLLY finished well on the inside after overcoming close quarters. NIGHT INTRUDER came to the outside entering the stretch and closed well. HERITAGE lacked early speed. MINIMUM ran in spots. WAR PERIL was in close quarters in the early runnine. CLARION CALL made up some ground. SWIFTGOLD ran in spots. JOVIAN could not keep up. INVEIGLER quit under urging.
