ABMERES WINS JUVENILE DASH Scores by Four Lengths over Termo-time and Teperwine at Aurora. Son of Kai Feng Displayed Good Mud Ability — Large Off-Day Gathering Present for Seven-Race Offering. AURORA, 111., May 20— Demonstrating his ability to negotiate a deep and heavy track, I Abmeres, racing the silks for former jockey Frank Seremba, romped to an easy victory in the fourth and best race on this afternoons program at the Fox Valley Jockey Club course and in doing so defeated eleven other juveniles. Coming from behind after entering the stretch and ploughing through the deepest part of the track, the Kai Feng colt held an advantage of four lengths over Termotime, with Teperwine, the other part of the J. A. Blackwell entry, finishing third. Kept in close attendance of the leaders by T. P. Martin, Abmeres asserted his superior mud-running proclivities after the field was well into the home lane, as he came through on the rail and even after encountering interference from Termotime moved on to an easy score. Following a delay of four and a half minutes at the starting gate because of the bad behavior of several of the contestants, the field was dispatched in good alignment, but they had scarcely traveled a sixteenth of a mile until Termotime, breaking from the inside position, showed in front, followed by Teperwine, the stable companion. COMES THROUGH ON INSIDE. Abmeres was within striking distance of the leaders in fourth place and the veteran j reinsman was biding his time before making his move. As the stretch curve was reached, Termotime moved out and Martin quickly took the opportunity to come through on the inside. However, a furlong out from the finish mark, Termotime clung to a half length lead but not for long as the ultimate winner sped past the early pacemaker and immediately began increasing his margin to four lengths j as the wire was reached. Clouds hovered over the course through- I out the day, following a heavy shower i shortly before noon, but in spite of the continued adverse weather there was a large week-day gathering of racing fans in attendance for the seven race offering, which was again made up of five sprints and two races over a route. Lady Thirteen annexed her first victory of the season in the fifth, a six furlongs dash in which six went postward, and accomplished the feat with utmost ease, crossing the finish line five lengths ahead of her nearest competitor, Sir Kai, while Plenty Charm was a half length farther back in third place. Racing as if she outclassed her opposition, Lady Thirteen immediately assumed a long lead and was never in danger of being overtaken, though Sir Kai made a determined but futile bid when the stretch was reached.
