MANN HORSES WIN "DOUBLE" Transit Lady and Blakeen Score in First and Second Races at River Downs Track. CINCINNATI, Ohio, May 20.— The A. R. Mann stable, which has played an important part in the River Downs spring meeting, took the spotlight of a mediocre program, which was run over a heavy and holding track this afternoon when performers from the Ohio stable captured both ends of the j "Daily Double." After Transit Lady, the ! favorite in the first race, had scored in decisive fashion, Blakeen came along to make every post a winning one in the second number, also over six furlongs. I Chase and i Belle Elan, which were co-favorites, carried off second and third honors, with I Chase finishing three lengths back of the winner and the same margin before Belle Elan. After the opening quarter, where Ann Terry showed early speed, the leading trio had I things their own way with Blakeen drawing | away from her field during the run for | home. W. G. Jackson was astride Blakeen. Another hard rain this morning kept the I track in a very bad condition, and although ! the skies cleared soon afterward and the ! weather became very warm, there is no [ chance of the racing strip being very much improved for tomorrows half-holiday program. The crowd, which was swelled by ladies being guests of the management, was the largest of the week.
