RICHARD J. LYONS HANDICAP Nine Speedy Sprinters Entered for Feature at Aurora Track. Five Illinois Derby Eligibles Among Field j for Bonrico Rum Purse, Secondary Attraction on Program. AURORA, 111., May 20.— Two features grace the Saturday program of the Fox Valley Jockey Clubs offering of eight races, with the Richard J. Lyons Handicap over the six furlongs distance, and carrying a value of ,500 as the main attraction. The supporting feature, the Ronrico Rum Purse, an allowance number at five and a half furlongs, brings out a number of candidates for the Illinois Derby. Despite the heavy condition of the racing strip, an attractive program of eight races has been arranged by racing secretary Richard A. Leigh, Sr., for the sporting enthusiasts of this section and should sunny skies prevail for the presentation of the program, one of the largest attendances of the current season is in prospect. Miss Dolphin, Grey Streak and Trans-mutable, a trio of winners at the meeting, are scheduled to clash in the Richard J. Lyons Handicap, thus indicating a close battle for the major honors with Chance Ray, which was runner-up to Miss Dolphin in the Inaugural Handicap, also among the scheduled starters in the three-quarters mile dash. In the Ronrico Rum Purse, an allowance affair designed exclusively for three-year-olds, five of the seven starters are eligibles for the Illinois Derby and their performances on this occasion is certain to serve as a barometer of their ability to negotiate heavy footing, should that sort of track prevail when the Derby comes up for decision on closing day. Among the Derby eligibles which will be out in the fifth race are Count Valiant, a galloping winner in the mud earlier in the week; Prince Argo, winner of his last two starts over strong competition; Pelter, Dolly Val and Pin Money.
