SCHLENKER VISITS MOTHER Chicagos Crack Saddle Product Va cationing Before Making Long Trip to the West Coast. Alex Schlenker, Chicagos crack saddle product, has been spending a few days visiting his mother at their northwest side home. Schlenker came direct to the Windy City from Maryland, where he rode in brilliant form for the well-known Chicago owner, Emil Denemark. The Windy City combination, that is the fifteen mounts Schlenker had, saw the Denemark silks first home in seven races. Schlenker is nineteen years old, but still makes 106 pounds with ease and tends to his knitting. He plans to leave for the West Coast either Thursday or Friday, to sign up with one of the major strings in the West. He has had several offers in recent weeks but is biding his time before committing himself. The Chicago boy has the happy faculty of being at his best when he is on an extreme outsider. Invariably his mounts pay big prices, which is all right with Alex, as long as they reach the finish first.
