TANFORAN TURF NOTES s s Arjac, Willock Stables three-year-old, is getting keyed up for route spats. Sent a mile Wednesday by trainer Osborne, the Ja-copo colt breezed easily in 1:41, done evenly, the fractions being :23, :48, 1:01, 1:13. He may combat older horses in some of the fall classics. A. L. Thomas shipped out the Koewler string to Santa Anita. Some of them need a breathing spell, notably Capt. Cal and Over the Top. The latter proved a big disappointment. The good apprentice, R. Robinson, will leave for Agua Caliente Monday. He will be accompanied by his agent, ex-jockey Bobby Doyle. The funeral of Frank Boutee will be held from Webers Funeral Parlors, 809 Venice Avenue, Los Angeles, Friday morning at 10 oclock. A number of his friends from Tanforan and Bay Meadows are planning to attend the rites. Bang, Roy T. and Figaro, the property of W. E. Boeing, have been shipped to Santa Anita. Ted Horning accompanied the shipment. Jockey Allen Gray, who recently suffered a dislocated shoulder, has departed for Coronado to rest up until the opening of Santa Anita. H. L. Carson, Texas- horseman, has been 1 engaged to train the horses of B. Ray. I All horses in the Burnell stable will in the future run in the name of Selden and Getchel. Getchel is a Lawrence, Mass., business man. i The animals are Patrolite and Herondas. 1
