BRITISH REFUSE TO SURRENDER ANY TERRITORY LONDON, England, Nov. 16. The British government does not intend to take any independent action to surrender any territories, including former German colonies which it now holds in Africa, to any foreign power, it was officially announced today. Confirming a declaration of colonial policy made by Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, Colonial Secretary Malcolm MacDonald today informed the house of commons that he had sent the following message to the governor of Tanganyika. "His Majestys government does not contemplate the transfer of any territory under British administration." MacDonalds announcement was made amid loud cheers from the Conservative bench, as a majority of the members of the House expressed their approval of the governments decision to take no unilateral action that might mean loss of Britains present colonial possessions.
