CHARLES F. raced in close pursuit of ASTER PRINCESS, took command under strong urging when t reaching the stretch, drew clear and was under a drive to withstand SIR MOWLEE. The latter raced prominently and closed full of run when placed to punishment. ASTER PRINCESS was ridden hard after getting to the front and saved ground, but tired after being displaced. BUDS KING raced in the first flight, I but was unable to challenge seriously. GOLDEN MAYNE raced well for the first five-eighths, then tired. BARRACA could not menace. MY SHADOW fell back badly after the break and was never a theat. BULLET I B. failed to enter a forward position. AUTUMN ECHO showed a flash of early speed. WILD IRISH, SOUR CHERRY and EXERTION were away vcrv slowly. JAMES BOY, beginning very slowly and a distant trailer for three-quarters, moved up fast between horses to reach contention nearing the stretch, finished full of run and was up in the last sixteenth. MOON HARVEST was hustled into the lead, shook off DUNRITA and JOLYON, then bore out entering the stretch to finish on the extreme outside, only for which he might have been winner. COUNTER PASS, getting started slowly, secured racing room on the inside and closed with excellent courage. WRENACE rallied when placed to a drive and finished gamelv. JOLYON forced a steady pace, but could not keep up when the real test came. SUN SWEEP was well up, but could not stay. STROPHE raced evenly. EXHORT failed to rally when shaken up. DUNRITA held a forward position early, but flattened out. BRIGHT CHANCE tired. OLD JAKE dropped far back of his field soon after the start, trailed his opposition to the final turn, swung to the outside when in full stride and, finishing with a sensational rush, wore down the leaders in the last eighth. PASSING EVE, rated within striking distance of the leaders, responded stoutly to take the lead when straightened into the stretch and continued willingly when caught. KAI-MIN improved his position on the inside, entered contention on the final turn and held on well to the finish. JOBAKHETA was well placed, but failed to better his position. BRIERTON opened up a wide lead nearing the last turn, but tired badly when shaken up. COPPER TUBE was never dangerous. TOW ROPE could not stay. BIG BUD tired fast in the last half mile. GOLDEN VOYAGE broke fast and clear to race forwardly from the start, raced to the front on tha turn out of the back stretch, saved ground and held BLACK BUN safe in the final drive. The latter was sent into a short lead in the opening stages, was placed to punishment when displaced and held on with good energy to the finish. WATCH OVER raced forwardly early, made a strong bid on the turn, but tired in the last quarter. WAR MOON was ridden strongly, but could not engage the leaders. LOVEDAY raced on the outside after being slow to settle in stride and failed to threaten. POMARY lost ground and failed to threaten. HASTEN UP tired gradually after having early speed. JOHNS HEIR showed no speed. BANNER GIRL was held safe. BROAD STRIPES broke slowlv. LYCONNA was never a factor. CLINGENDAAL held a forward position in the early racing, went kindly all the way and came with good courage under punishment in the stretch drive. RYE BEACH set a fast pace, could not get clear and failed to stall off the winner under punishment. CONQUER, outrun for five-eighths, slipped through on the inside and finished with a bold rush. BILL FARNSWORTH was hard urged throughout and continued courageously to the finish. LADY MARYLAND raced strongly, but could not get to the "leaders. CHANCEVIEW was racing stoutly in the late stages. SUN EGRET was a strong contender until reaching the stretch, then tired. ACCOLADE was never prominent. MALANO was away very slowly. CACODEMON was outrun. ROYAL EMINENCE broke slowly. The latter, rated off the early pace, moved up stoutly on the final turn, rallied to punishment, but could not make up any ground after reaching the winner. SOME BOY, lacking speed in the early running, improved his position stoutly in the last half mile, but was unable to catch the leaders. LADINO moved up gradually when placed to a drive, but was not dangerous. BE BIG showed a good effort. THREE DAGGERS made up much ground. GAYLASS was outrun. GRAND DUKE was done after three-quarters." SUMAC and MISS TROY raced themselves into defeat setting the early pace. The latter was rushed hard to gain a forward position, reached the front on the final turn, but had too much taken out of him and tired in the closing drive after losing ground. SAN ANTIOCA worked her way into contention steadily and finished with excellent courage. MONUMENT, slow to settle in. stride, closed stoutly in the last half mile. THE STORY was caught in tight quarters rounding the final turn. DARK REVUE raced in spots. SAIDONA tired. GOLDEN VEIN could not threaten. PALAN was never a factor.
