: CALL OFF BUFFALO STRIKE BUFFALO, N. Y., Dec. 22 Huge supplies of Yuletide poultry and produce moved over Buffalos streets today after 700 food handlers accepted a compromise agreement and called off their strike. Return of the workers removed all threat of a shortage of food for the holidays. The forty-eight-hour strike ended when a 2-cent wage increase, which boosted the hourly rate to a minimum of 55 cents, was accepted by the workers, who also gained recognition of the warehouse and produce workers local, an A.
