MUGGINS found room on the inside to get into the lead in the opening eighth, met strong opposition from MIXED WEATHER until reaching the stretch, then drew out gradually under strong urging. MIXED WEATHER forced a steady pace, made repeated challenges and held on willingly. DULCIMER held a contending position in the early running and held on with good energy in the closing test. COBE, shuffled back after the start, could not reach a forward position. JUST AN IDEA showed a good effort. ABBATORO. finished strongly. TONIANNA lacked speed and was never a threat. LADY EMISON tired. THAT ONE broke very slowly. JINX was outrun. ODD BLUE brqke well, but dropped back immediately. WORTHING was caught in a jam in the opening eiehth and bled, then fell. KNIGHT GALLANT luckily found racing room on the inside to reach a prominent, position, continued through a narrow opening steadily to engage the pacemaker, then withstood a tenacious drive to get up in the last few yards. WHA HAE raced CANDY PRINCE and BRAIN TRUST into submission, rallied tea hard drive, but. could no withstand the winner. BRAIN TRUST was a stout factor all during the running and held on gamely. MANEUVER gained a forward position early, but could not engage the leaders. DISTRACT raced wide and worked his way up slowly. CANDY PRINCE raced well for a half mile, then tired: PRINCESS TORCH was never dangerous. SURE CLOUD was outrun. WAYALOFT was always held safe. JOHARIE, away nicely, was hustled to gain a short lead, raced SAXONIAN into submission, saved ground and drew out nicely when shaken up for the stretch drive. GALLANT NEB, steadied in the early racing, moved up willingly when sent to the outside, made a weak bid midway of the turn, then tired approaching . the finish. CARLSBAD fell back rounding the turn, then came again under punishment in the last stages. OFF GUARD failed to reach the leaders when shaken up. SHOHOLA had no excuses. MILL RIVER was held perfectly safe. ROSCOE broke from outside the stalls. He broke well, but dropped back badly. SAXONIAN quit in the last three-sixteenths. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. FLYING LILL, handled strongly, was kept in near pursuit of the leaders, secured racing room on the inside when moving forward, rallied to a tenacious drive when engaged with PADDY and was up in the last seventy yards. PADDY showed good speed to set the pace, met strong efforts from DOUBT NOT and fought it out with excellent courage in the closing drive. DOUBT NOT was strongly urged while racing with the pacemaker, but failed to stay when placed to punishment. ROCK MAKER showed a good effort RANGE DUST could not better his position. GHOST QUEEN forced a swift early pace, made stout bids and held on with good energy. VICTORIOUS ANN could not get clear while setting the pace and tired in the last three-sixteenths. WHISPER, away poorly aftcr trying to wheel and far out of contention, finished stoutly while weaving between horses in the last three-sixteenths. MOSS GAL raced well placed, but was not good enough. BAREBACK was not hurried to keep pace with GALLOPING when the latter was hustled into the lead, raced along under light pressure until leaving the back stretch, wont to the front under a drive and was stoutly urged to the end. GALLOPING was hurried to gain the load, was steadied nicely and held on gamely when placed to punishment. MAJOR SWEEP was well up with the first two from the beginning, but was held perfectly safe and barely outstayed BALAPIN. The latter, taken to the outside early, bettered his position steadily when urged in the last half mile. JOLYON showed a good race. WISPY could not improve her position.
