LAUNCH GERMAN BATTLESHIP WILHELMSHAVEN, Germany, April 1. G.rmanys new 35,000 ton battleship Von Tir-pitz was launched in the presence of Chancel- lor Hitler today amid thunderous shouts of "siey heil" hail victory, from thousands of Nazis. The battleship slid majestically into the estuary of the North Sea called Jade-busen. It bore the name of Von Tirpitz in honor of the man who never spoke of the I British, except as "that old pirate nation," and who was famous in the world war for advocating submarine warfare. Herr Hitler looked on proudly, his hand, raised in the Nazi salute as the ship left the ways. He appeared pale, tense and somewhat preoccupied.
