CLARK READY FOR DEBUT LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 1. Odie Clelland, who trains the horses of Mrs. R. J. Murphy, may introduce a new rider td racing at Churchill Downs this spring. The youngster is Shelby Clark, seventeen-year-old McLeans-boro, 111., apprentice who has been galloping the Murphy horses for almost three years. Clark, who weighs about 85 pounds, was to have started his riding career in New Orleans during the winter but he sustained a wrist injury in a training accident ! and had to take it easy for. a time. W L. Johnson will continue to do the bulk of the 1 riding for the Murphy stable. Seth Bastin I will make Johnstons mounts and also will I take over Clarks book when he starts his career. The latter is said to have shown real promise.
