AURORA MERCHANTS UNABLE TO FORM TURF ORGANIZATION AURORA, 111., April 1. The Aurora merchants endeavoring to organize an operating company for the Aurora race track, failed to come to any sort of an agreement and have dropped negotiations. This virtually kills all chance for the opening of the Aurora track this year. The Fox Valley Jockey Club, which owns the lease on the track, canceled its meeting when the Illinois Racing Commission allotted the track only twenty-one days, from May 1 to May 24. The Illinois department of agriculture will be the heaviest loser. 1,500 in daily license fees ,500 per day and approximately 0,000 in taxes on admissions will be wiped out, unless one of the "other Chicago tracks takes over the dates. None of the other tracks appear to want the dates and cite various reasons. All seem satisfied with what they have.
