MUSSOLINI RETURNS TO ROME ROME, Italy, April 1. Premier Mussolini hastily returned to Rome from Calabria today to keep a close eye on the Eastern European situation but stopped at Capua to make this significant declaration: "If there is not sufficient space for us, someone must give it to us." His return to the capital caused some surprise. There had been reports he would continue on to Sicily, possibly to meet Reichsfeuhrer Adolf Hitler and Generalissimo Francisco Franco there at a later date.
