NEW ORLEANS TURF REVIVAL AID TO SOUTHWEST BREEDERS BREEDERSFORT FORT WORTH Texas June 14 Thor ¬ oughbred owners and breeders throughout the vast expanse of Texas Arizona New Mexico and Oklahoma are watching with keen and undisguised interest the efforts of Sylvester Labrot Tony Pelleteri and associ ¬ ates in their attempt to restore highclass racing to New Orleans If racing returns to the Crescent City in the pretentious man ¬ ner outlined by those in charge it will mean another and decidedly worthwhile field for thoroughbreds from these sections sectionsBreeders Breeders and owners at Fort Worth Dal ¬ las and in North Texas as well as in West Texas barred from proving their thorough ¬ breds in the Lone Star State and thus forced to ship and race elsewhere would again find New Orleans a haven It is an easy matter for a Texas owner or breeder to ship back and forth to Louisiana from any chargeThe point in Texas at a nominal charge The benefit would be felt next winter for the crop of thoroughbred foals is far in ex ¬ cess of any previous year and it includes some fashionablybred youngsters scores of new sires and brood mares having been brought to Texas by optimistic breeders dur ¬ ing the past few years More will come this year according to present plans as many breeders are expanding their thoroughbred stock farms and nurseries
