THE DUCK raced to the front early, established a good lead before reaching the stretch and, responding to mild urging, retained her advantage to the finish. FLORIZAN SAM began fast, saved ground throughout and closed determinedly under punishment, but could not menace the winner. HUGABIT, never far bark, made a game bid when hard urged during the stretch run, but was not good enough. QUEEN JUSTICE, slow to begin, could not threaten. DARBY DONNA was never dangerous. BIP was done early. DEVELOPER, always far back, raced wide. McDUFF could not keep up. Overweight — MrDuff, 4 pounds. SIXTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. Won driving; second and third the same. MISS DAUNT worked her way up steadily under good handling, came stoutly when hard urged in the stretch and was up to dispose of the leaders in the last sixteenth. SMACKED went to the front at once, set the pace tor five eighths under pressure from SONG O WAR, shook off the latter, but was unable to withstand the winner. PATRIOT, slow to begin and outrun for half a mile, came to the inside for the drive and closed with a rush, giving a good effort. SONG O WAR forced the pace to midway of the stretch, then faltered. ABRUPT worked his way up gamely on the outside and finished well under punishment. LADY WATERLOO was unable to threaten. JAY JAY began slowly. LOANGO gave way after racing forwardlv placed to the final eighth. EPIDOR was done early. BRIGHT ARC had early speed. MYSTERY MARVEL had a rough trip. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. Myrtlewood. JOE, in hand while racing within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, came through on the inside when MANY LANDS drifted out and, responding wrl when ridden out, increased his advantage steadily to the finish. BOOM ON. much used engaging MANY DS to the stretch, held on determinedly thereafter, but was not good enough for the winner. MAN NDS went to the front early, set the pare for three-quarters under pressure from BOOM ON and then fait. . I during the stretch run. COLUMBUS DAY raced evenly after the start and had no excuses. GOLD TEDDY began slowly and was never prominent. THREE CLOVERS was done early. Overweight — O. K. Joe, 1 pound ; Many Lands. 2. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. Myrtlewood. WAR SHY went to tha front early, came over sharply at the first turn when clear and, setting the pace to the stretch, swerved repeatedly during the drive, but did not bother any of the field while retaining her advantage. CONTEMPLATION raced in closest pursuit of WAR SHY after the start, came determinedly when roused in the final quirter and outgamed CEE LOT. The latter, never far back and on the inside, finished resolutely under punishment. DEFENSE MAN, on the outside throughout, tired. AT WAR went eenly without mishap. SWEET MARGY and CREST O WAR were always outrun. Overweight — Contemplation, 1 pound.
