Cinderella, Rolling Lawn And Glencoe Close Today Trio of Fixtures Will Be Run Next Week at Homewood Course HOMEWOOD, 111., June 25.— Besides being a red letter day on the Arlington-Washington Park program because of the 0,000 Equipoise Mile, Saturday is an important day to horsemen with eligibles for the next three events on the stakes calendar, as it is the final day for making entries for those features. The three fixtures which close Saturday are the Cinderella. Rolling Lawn and Glencoe Handicaps. Each is endowed with ,000 added money. The Cinderella, at seven furlongs, for fillies and mares three years old and upward, comes up for decision as the midweek attraction Wednesday. It will be the third running and holds promise of attracting, among others, the two outstanding older mares in the country, Calumet Farms Mar-Kell and Brownell Combs Miss Dogwood, both four-year-olds. Mar-Kell qualified splendidly for her engagement by winning the War Admiral Purse easily last Tuesday, when her illustrious stablemate, Whirlaway. finished third. The Rolling Lawn is the first of several stakes to be run on the turf course during the current meeting. It will be the feature attraction next Thursday, being at the distance of one and one-sixteenth miles for three-year-olds and upward. Three American Turf Marks Set Three American records over the turf were established on the grass tracks at Arlington and Washington Parks last year. The three horses which established them are now at Washington Park and are possible starters in Thursdays renewal of the Rolling Lawn, although one of them. Coward and Du Puys Marriage, is quite doubtful, due to his engagements in the 0,000 Equipoise Mile this week-end and the 0,000 Stars and Stripes Handicap on the holiday and war benefit program on July 5. Marriage made his record, 2:02% for one and one-quarter miles, in the Grassland Handicap at Arlington Park. Clyde Troutts Take Wing, who hung up a grass-track record of 1:51 for one mile and an eighth in the Flossmoor Handicap at Washington Park, is expected to go after the Rolling Lawn. The third member of the record-breaking trio is the Australian horse, Reading II., formerly a member of Louis B. Mayers stable from Hollywood, but now owned by J. A. Casson. Reading II. won the Green Velvet Handicap at Arlington Park last year, completing the mile and three-sixteenths in 1:98% to establish j a new American mark for the distance. The Glencoe Handicap is the secondary stake attraction with the 0,000 Arlington Lassie Stakes on Saturday, July 3, another red letter day at Washington Park. The Glencoe was inaugurated at Arlington Park last year, when it was won by Louis B. i Mayers Thumbs Up, who will likely attempt to give a repeat performance next Saturday. The Glencoe is run at seven furlongs.
