Parkes Confidence in Occupy Unshaken Despite Defeat HOMEWOOD, 111.. June 25.— While naturally disappointed in the defeat of John Marschs Occupy in the Primer Stakes at Washington Park yesterday, trainer Burley Parkes faith in the colts prospects are unshaken. He said that it was natural that the colt would tire after having set such a burning pace and he expressed the belief that he might have lasted had he not been hurried so over the early furlongs. Parke said he will proceed with preparations to make Occupations full brother ready for his further engagements which include among others, the Arlington Futurity, the Washington Park Futurity and the Washington Park juvenile stakes. Meanwhile. A. C. Ernsts Alorter, who beat Occupy a head for top honors in the Primer, was commanding new respect today. The homebred son of The Porter, developed by Jack H. Skirvin, accomplished his latest task in workmanlike fashion and he begins to loom powerfully as a contender for the same objectives that await Occupy. Alorter "s victory in the Primer was his second important success of the year, for at Hawthorne he won the Joliet Stakes.
