New York Notes AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 25 Fred H. Parks, steeplechase racing secretary and handicapper at all the New York courses, will continue to serve in the judges stand during the Empire City meeting which opens on Monday at the Jamaica course. Prank "Jimmy" Kilroe, who was here on furlough from Louisiana, returned to his post. Kilroe served in the judges stand before entering the armed forces. Trainer Dan E. Stewart registered the J. E. Widener horses for the Empire City meeting which opens on Monday at Jamaica. Trainer Max Hirsch reported that Tola Rose, owned by A. J. Sackett, developed a quarter crack and the injury forced him to withdraw the colt from all stake engagements for the remainder of the season. Due to war-time restrictions and rationing the annual dinner of the New York Turf Writers will not be held this year. Howeevr. plaques arinually awarded to the outstanding racing personalities will be presented at a private ceremony on Wednesday, August 18. Danny Gorman, former rider who plied his wares around the New York courses, is now serving in the United States Navy. He is here on a furlough visiting his parents, according to word received from his father. Exemplify, who was left at the post in his last start, has been placed on the stewards list and is barred from the entries. Apprentice C. Givens. who appeared at his local induction center for a physical examination, was rejected for military service. He was one inch too short. John P. Turner. Sr.. racing secretary-handicapper and official at the various race courses throughout the current season, arrived from Baltimore and will spend a few days here at Aqueduct.
