Michigan Notes FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 28. Jack Long, conditioner of the Darby Dan Farms horses, expects to start a representative of that establishment in the July 4 two-year-old feature, the ,500 Lassies Handicap. The youngster most likely to carry the hopes of the Ohio-owned entourage is Darby Dnieper, a chestnut daughter of Sickle Gaillonelle. Doniel Boone Hickey is on hand. The vociferous jocks agent arrived a few days ago from Cincinnati and is desirous of informing all and sundry he is handling the riding engagements for Cornelio Mojena. Olin Johnson is well pleased with the manner in which. J. C. EIUs Quintero has performed and plans to start the two-year-old son of Appealing in the July 15 Lassies Handicap, worth ,500. Pat Milligan has severed his connections with trainer Ray Byrum and will ride free lance for the balance of the meeting. Jockey Charles Bianco has affiliated with the Bomar Stable, conditioned by R. Emmett Potts. The veterans riding engagement are handled by Jerry Rodriguez. June Dear, Hi-Murt, Above All, Gold Queen and Handy Lad comprise the starters list. At private terms and acting for his wife, trainer N. T. Mayo purchased Valdina Delia from Mrs. E. H. Beezley. Although still confined to Highland Park General Hospital Joe Baumbachs condition is steadily improving. I
