Leading Juvenile Fillies to Meet In Arlington Lassie on Saturday Twosy, Blue Skimmer Given Chance to Settle Matter Of Supremacy in Fixture HOMEWOOD, 111., June 28. The renewal Saturday of the Arlington Lassie Stakes, heavily endowed six-furlong spin for two-year-old fillies, promises to be enlivened by a private duel between Eslie Asburys Blue Skimmer and Calumet Farms Twosy who waged such a furious battle in the Miss Dogwood Purse at Washington Park earlier in the week. These two hard-running fillies finished a nose apart with Twosy having the better of it, but the Calumet representatives pilot, Conn McCreary, committed a foul and the order of finish was reversed with Blue Skimmer awarded first money. Their duel has raised considerable speculation on the relative merits of the two fillies and the matter of supremacy between them may be definitely settled in Saturdays stake. They will be battling on that occasion for a purse whose gross value is expected to be around 0,000. Added money and nomination fees already make the race worth 4,040 and each starter has yet to add 00 to the purse. Field of Twelve or More Likely Both fillies are retaining their excellent form and it is probable that one or the other of them will rule the favorite for the Lassie. Twosy and Blue Skimmer, however, will not have the Lassie Stakes to themselves. A dozen or more may make up the starting field. Two of the latest invading contenders to arrive at Washington Park are the Green-tree Stables Expression, who came in yesterday, and Col. C. V. Whitneys Monsoon, who checked in this morning. Both came from New York and each bears a record to suggest she has an excellent chance of victory. Among other probable starters are the Foxcatcher Farms Surosa, William Helis Delphi, A. B. Gays Nostalgia and Ryanna Ranchs Blue Albi, while H. P. Headley, John Marsch, Louis B. Mayer and Wool-ford Farm each has a number of eligibles from which to select colorbearers. Since the days of Rancocas Stables Capture, the first winner in 1929, the Arlington Lassie Stakes annually has attracted the best juvenile fillies in the country and this season, promises to be no exception. It is the richest event of its type and second to none in importance.
