Misi Gertrude Donovans Fighting Don made it three straight and further advanced hia claims to the early season juvenile championship when he romped off with the 0,000 Great American Stakes, at Aqueduct, this afternoon, thrilling a crowd of 19,521 who backed him down to less than 1 to 2. William Zieglers Esteem finished fast to be second, two lengths behind the son of Fighting Fox, and three lengths before A. A. Baronis Top General. Only six started in this 54th running of the Great American, and the others were Junior Atlas, Post Graduate and Poco Mas, who finished in that order. Fighting Don was clocked in the excellent time for a juvenile of 1:11 with fractions of :22; and :46ts. He paid a mere .80 but never gave his innummerable backers any anxiety.
