TETRAFETTLE, hustled from the beginning to assume command to the first turn, saved ground while setting the pace under a light hold, was shaken up nearing the furlong pole and was ridden out to widen advantage in the final stages. JEEMS steadily improved position nearing the final quarter and rallied mildly midway of the stretch, but was unable to reach the winner. BRAZIL saved ground while remaining close up and held on gamely under intermittent pressure. HAPPY PAT was formidably placed and had no mishap. JACKIE BABS, outrun for six furlongs, made up ground under steady urging while coming between horses in the stretch. ASTIFY was unable to keep up. DIEXTOL was through after brief early speed. SOFTIE was outrun. Overweight Tetrafettle, 41 pounds; Softie, 3. Brazil claimed by Mae Kay Stable. Diextol claimed by J. H. Moore. Jeems claimed by Damarjian and Nash. Happy Pat claimed by L. Sidell.
